Facebook Prayers

You know what's great to see?

After the horrible event that took place in Manchester, I was 100% expecting to find my Facebook newsfeed filled with:"sending my hopes and prayers!!!!😪💗😩" status updates and people temporarily updating their profile pictures to have some cheesy flag overlay, heck why not slap a few #WeStandWithManchester tags in there too while you're at it.

I've seen almost none of it, and for that I am so freaking thankful. Does that sound disrespectful to you? Have a think about it. Changing your pictures only to change it back later on, writing meaningless statuses, jumping on a support tag train just to stay relevant, THAT is disrespectful imo. Those things do absolutely nothing to help the victims of any devastating event. All it does is give off the image that you're a kind and caring person, and if you actually are then is it really necessary? No.


If you really wanted to show your support for something, you can contribute in other ways than through Facebook show-ponying and pissing contests.



Okay, this turned into a way longer vent that I intended it to, but you should get the picture. Thank you folks for not being stupid and selfish about the Manchester bombing. I'm out.

  This is absolutely outrageous. There are horrible things happening all over the world all the time. I mean no disrespect to the victims of the NZ mosque shooting when I say this, but why is there so much censorship after this particular event? What makes the footage of THIS shooting more awful than any other? Why is THIS shooting causing so much outrage in the media in comparison to videos of Mexican cartels flaying people alive. Yeah, that's just on the internet. Do I ever want to go to Brazil? Nope, not after what I've seen. If a Chinese person dies at work or in public you can guarantee it's on the internet for millions of eyes to view. Does this come in pink? Okay, so you’ve probably heard of  ‘The Pink Tax’  before. Particularly if you call yourself a feminist. This  ‘Pink Tax’  refers to the fact that products marketed towards women cost more than  similar  products that are marketed towards men (e.g. razors, body wash, most self-care products). The theory is that  women pay more for the same products as men , which is entirely false. It gives off the impression that cashiers add some  female-fee  to your total regardless of what you buy at the supermarket. No, people are complaining that  similar  products have different costs. The facts are that the  female equivalent of some products cost more than the male ones because they contain more or different ingredients.
