"Boruto is such a spoiled brat!"

Image
Are we even watching the same show?   Alright so if ya'll are Naruto fans then you've probably seen or read the Boruto movie/anime and though to yourself: "Fuck, Boruto is such an entitled little shit. He doesn't respect his dad at all"(1) Well, here's the thing. Why should Boruto respect his dad? The only reason I can think of is just the fact that he is Boruto's dad. But Naruto is hardly at home and spend little time with the family. Since becoming hokage, Naruto just can't . But Boruto doesn't quite understand this. He is like 12. 'Hokage' doesn't mean much to him. He doesn't know what that role is or what it entails (besides from you get your face carved in a big rock), and just how fucking hard Naruto worked to get there. He doesn't know . He is a boy desperate for his dad's attention, just like how Naruto used to be a boy desperate for everyone's attention. I have no doubt that if Naruto's par...

Princess Peach is a Beast

Image
Facebook comments strike back! So in the comments of a Nintendo post (on Facebook *shiver* ) I saw someone complain about how they're sick of Princess Peach being portrayed as a weak damsel in need of saving. This person was demanding a game where Princess Peach rescues the Mario Bros instead of them rescuing her, and they insulted Nintendo for being 'sexist' .   Alright so FIRST of all, in 2005 Nintendo released a game for the DS called Super Princess Peach, it's an awesome g ame with a lot of replay-ability and oh... guess what? You play as Peach and rescue Mario . It's a shame that this game hasn't had any sequels considering it was quite popular and had a lot of potential. But that's another story. Princess Toadstool is also a playable character in Super Mario Bros. 2, where she was the favourite character of many players because she could fly! Girl power, am I right? SECONDLY , Princess Peach is anything but weak. Just because...

The Pink Tax

Image
Does this come in pink? Okay, so you’ve probably heard of  ‘The Pink Tax’  before. Particularly if you call yourself a feminist. This  ‘Pink Tax’  refers to the fact that products marketed towards women cost more than  similar  products that are marketed towards men (e.g. razors, body wash, most self-care products). The theory is that  women pay more for the same products as men , which is entirely false. It gives off the impression that cashiers add some  female-fee  to your total regardless of what you buy at the supermarket. No, people are complaining that  similar  products have different costs. The facts are that the  female equivalent of some products cost more than the male ones because they contain more or different ingredients. That should seem logical to everyone, right?   For example, razors. When I go to buy myself a razor, my eyes find their way to the wall of pink and they almost bulge out of my head wh...

Facebook Prayers

You know what's great to see? After the horrible event that took place in Manchester, I was 100% expecting to find my Facebook newsfeed filled with: "sending my hopes and prayers!!!!😪💗😩 " status  updates and people temporarily updating their profile pictures to have some cheesy flag overlay, heck why not slap a few  # WeStandWithManchester  tags in there too while you're at it. I've seen almost none of it, and for that I am so freaking thankful. Does that sound disrespectful to you? Have a think about it. Changing your pictures only to change it back later on, writing meaningless statuses, jumping on a support tag train just to stay relevant, THAT is disrespectful imo. Those things do absolutely nothing to help the victims of any devastating event. All it does is give off the image that you're a kind and caring person, and if you actually are then is it really necessary? No. If you really wanted to show your support for something, you can contr...

Ghost in the Shell goes to Hollywood

Image
The outrage over this is unreal... If you’re annoyed at the casting of the  Ghost In The Shell  film then you should probably go ahead and unfollow me or something. I have a little something to say on the matter that might hurt some special snowflake feelings. I’m familiar with the franchise and I can tell you that the race of the characters is pretty fucking irrelevant to the plot. You’re all up in arms about Hollywood white-washing and how Scarlett stole a role that rightfully belonged to a Japanese woman. That’s utter bullshit.  The setting of Ghost in the Shell is an international one, and as such there is a mix of ethnicity among the actors cast in the film. The writers and the directors felt Scarlet suited the role of Motoko and wanted her because of her successful career and obvious acting capabilities.  People in Japan don’t have an issue with Scarlet’s casting as they assumed that was what would happen, and are frankly just excited that Ghost...

I would consider myself anti-feminist

Alright, in regards to me tagging something on tumblr as “anti-feminist” I’m gonna clarify for anyone who’s interested I support equality , but men and women in the modern western world are pretty damn on par with one-another. Feminism is irrelevant to  me . It is relevant to third-world countries where women have no rights; but not  here . Not where I live (first-world Australia). I don’t consider “manspreading” a triggering issue worth talking about. I can walk alone at night without the constant fear that every man I see is going to rape me. If I want to work in a male-dominated field then I have the opportunities to do so. The pay gap does not exist anymore. Abortion is a general human rights issue that is mainly a religious debate, not a gender-based one. I have been cat-called  once , and it was by dumb teen boys wearing ‘mother’ energy drink shirts (aka, dickwads who would do it to anybody). Rape ‘culture’ is something feminists made-up.  Ba...
